Wulf was just absolutely brilliant! I absolutely loved his attitude and the way he acted towards Chris and he was indeed a great Father figure.

Cassandra is my favourite female so far! She was brilliant with dealing with everything, her humour was great and she was an amazing character with a really well written personality!

This one is tricky. There are things I really liked and things that were a miss for me.

I love the world that Sherrilyn Kenyon has created. This book definitely adds to that world. We get the POV of one of the bad guys and you get to see what's going on with them. I'm always interested to learn more about Ash and this book gives you just a little more.

Now, what I didnt like so much. Wulf falls for Cassandra because she's the only woman who remembers him after 5 minutes. Like that's how their relationship starts. So he doesn't have a lot of options. He tries to stay distant from her but he can't because, well, he's pretty freaking lonely. I get it but, makes me wonder, would he have picked her if she wasn't the only option?

Lots of worldbuilding, lots of loneliness, angst, true love, and even some humor: all things that should make for a wonderful romance. Sadly, this was a clunker. For much of the story, I was either bored or rolling my eyes, and there was too much magical hand waving from Acheron.

Once the truth behind the shared dreams was revealed, I became really uncomfortable. That was probably where the book lost me, or at least started to. This did not age well.

Kiss of the Night
4 Stars

Synopsis:
Wulf Tryggvasen is a Dark Hunter cursed with inducing amnesia in others. No one remembers him for more than five minutes, which means he will never find true love or regain his soul. Luckily, Wulf finally meets Cassandra Peters, the one woman who can remember him. Unfortunately, she belongs to the cursed race he is sworn to destroy. Can Wulf and Cassie overcome ancient curses, prophecies and meddling Gods to find true happiness?

Review:
An entertaining addition to the series. It should be noted that in terms of the timeline, this installment takes place in parallel to the events in Night Embrace and Dance with the Devil. Consequently, the other Dark Hunters are engaged elsewhere for most of the book and Cassie and Wulf are left to their own devices.

The world building continues with more intricate details about the Apollites and the Daimons as well as additional tantalizing hints regarding Acheron’s true nature and identity. Intriguing questions are also raised concerning some of the new characters such as Cassandra’s bodyguard, Kat.

The one problem is the overabundance of new characters and groups, which can be overwhelming and distracting because it is difficult to keep track of everyone.

Nevertheless, the story is engaging and the main characters are well-developed. Cassie and Wulf have great chemistry and their relationship is more emotional than in the earlier books. Of course, I am a sucker for the forbidden loves/opposites attract plot device. The dream sequences were a little weird but mesh well with the overall story.

Cassandra is a wonderful heroine. The way in which she copes with her eminent death demonstrates and incredible strength of will. Wulf is also an appealing character. It was interesting to see him come to terms with Cassie’s heritage and realize that the Apollites are people suffering under a terrible curse. His banter with Chris contributes to some of the funniest moments in the book.

The villain is one of the most dangerous and threatening in the series so far. He has some vicious tendencies and it will be interesting to see what happens with him in future books.

In sum, the Dark Hunters is a well-written series with one of the most fascinating mythologies in the genre of paranormal romance. I look forward to continuing on to the next books.

This one made me cry, in a few spots. But to me that's just the sign of a good author, when they can convey enough emotion in their writing to make the reader feel it.

I didn't completely love this one but I did love all the little bits and pieces that made it. I loved Wulf and the idea that no one can remember him, I loved the discovery of the racial issues in the D-H world and how not every member of the 'bad' species is a bad person.

I did however feel this book was more a filler in the series. And I mean, each book does give a whole hell of a lot of information, because the worlds so large that NEEDS to happen, but this one felt more so that events played out to get somewhere. And that's not a bad thing, that's what should happen in series, but for the individual book it just needed a bit more of something and I don't quite know what.

It did get pretty emotional because the heroine in this IS an Apollite, meaning at 27 she will perish thanks to a curse on her ancestors. I was really into finding out whether she'd live or die or not because I've been seeing a whole heap of PNR where it explores finding a mate and losing them etc and I think in terms of emotion, for me anyway, the outcome was pretty great.

I also loved that she was the last descendant of Apollo and the match making was cool and Wulfs a Viking and I find them sexy no matter what (even though I had no clue on his accent in my mind, Ash also) and I'm super eager to find out more on Kat. She was hiding from Ash or someone and I NEED to know who she is. Badly.

Kiss of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon: I had to give this book 5 stars because I actually cried 3 different times in the reading of the book. Books do not often draw me in enough where I actually cry but this one truly does. I thought the ending was a little rushed and I was sad at the outcome for one couple. The humor was spot on especially after all the boys from the first 4 books in this series got together. It was a bit confusing in the beginning until you find out the book is running in tandem with the two behind it. A very good read!
