As a blind person (along with multiple other disabilities), this book I’d very offensive and gets so much about disability wrong. There is also a scary lack of consent in this book. I would honestly ask people not to read this boom and if they do, to be aware of the harm and to not speak to disabled people the way this book suggests.
Graphic: Ableism
Minor: Body shaming
Ableism-The entire book is very, very ableist. Body shaming-at one point Tessa starts wearing glasses to hide her “unfocused eyes”. This is a stereotype and perpetuates the idea that blind people have to hide their eyes to make others more comfortable.
