The ending was for sure rushed and I don't feel like we got to really see what all happened with Mark in the end. Like Bryon even admitted, I don't know what source possessed him to completely unravel his whole life so the ending made no sense to me.

The book is an interesting read for those who enjoyed Outsiders. You don't have to have read Outsiders to read this book, but if you do, you'll notice a few fun cross overs which I enjoyed.

While this is not my first time reading this book (it's the second), it is my first time reading it as an adult. I listened to it immediately after finishing The Outsiders, and while I was moved by it, I can't quite give it a Curtis Brother 5 Stars. So close though.

This book feels much more mature, both in terms of writing and content, than The Outsiders, and I think that is part of the reason why it stuck me so hard. It's not just a book about growing up, but also a book about growing away from those you love. However, like all of Hinton's books, it does have it's funny moments; I love that I learned the term "a lulu" and can't wait to use it. It is definitely up there in terms of best books I've ever read, and I will absolutely recommend it to everyone.

It was great reading about Ponyboy again :)

I WANT TO CLARIFY THAT HE PLAYS A MINOR ROLE IN THE BOOK

I love this book. I’ve now read it twice and it’s broken my heart both times.
This book is about friends Mark and Bryon. They’re like brothers, until they’re not. It’s a story of their relationship through thick and thin.
It’s emotion, yet funny, it’s cheesy but it’s so REAL. The end always always gets me.
If you liked the outsider you’ll love this one!! Ponyboy even makes an appearance!
