Bookshop Cinderella was a cute historical romance. It gave me major She's All That vibes but I'm glad he actually told her that he was going to give her a makeover and why he was doing it. While there were some predictable moments that made my eyes roll, overall it was a sweet story and I'd be curious to check out future works from this author.

Thank you Netgalley and Forever for the advanced review copy.

Evie Harlow runs a run-down bookshop in London. When Max, Duke of Westbourne, makes her an offer to turn her into a society lady, she refuses but is forced to reconsider when disaster strikes her shop.
This is more of a My Fair Lady story than Cinderella; Max only makes his offer because of a bet. Evie is turned into a diamond, and like Henry Higgins, Max is the one who falls in love. It's a great retelling with interesting characters, both main and side. Max is divorced, which adds some scandal to his efforts. Evie is shy but willing to follow her dreams despite her anxieties. It's a fun story as the pair work through the complications and disasters of their joint endeavors. Another great story from Ms. Guhrke.

I really loved that book! But then, I’m a sucker for Cinderella related stuff and I absolutely love She’s All That (even watched He's All That, you can't stop me!). In the book, you get all the vibes from those stories but it is such a nice take on it, so well done, I was really looking forward to see what would happen next. I loved that Evie knew about the whole bet and even though she had no plan to do it at first, she then found herself wanting to win for real and she slowly took confidence in herself.
(saved me from the heartbreak of this part)

Max was absolutely perfect in my opinion, the winking, the banter, the way he was always honest and trying his best to help how he could. Ugh.... I looooove him. I also quite enjoyed knowing more about the past of our characters and understanding how it could affect their reactions/decisions, it was easy to understand them. Max and his cousin’s relationship was so cute and it made me love Delia right away (hoping she gets her own book!!). The character growth was quite satisfying and the interactions between our MC were so damn adorable. All this tension between them... oh how I loved it! Max’s inner thoughts were just the best, I loved that he was always battling how he felt and all, until he just couldn’t. I was dying with the dance lessons, IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER.

Anyways, I was smiling a lot reading this book and it was just so easy to get into it. The ending really flew by and next thing I knew the book was over. For some reason that I cannot explain, the ending gave me such Persuasion vibes and it was awesome.Gonna be honest, I kinda want a movie with that book now!

To sum up, it was a light, sweet, fun read and I definitely recommend your read it if you enjoy historical romance!

Thanks to the author, Forever and NetGalley for my copy. All opinions are my own.

The story has it cute charm about it, but it’s the plot that’s not connecting. The story moves has a steady line. I was looking for the highs and lows of a intriguing story. The characters seems to mature and in depth for the plot. Perhaps if there was mystery or a spy plot that the two have found themselves involved in would bring excitement to the story. The entertainment part of the book was when the two main characters shared dialogues together. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Cinderella/ my fair lady retelling where she’s in on the bet? I’m here for this.
This book was utterly charming.

I absolutely loved our leads as they navigated turning Evie into the bells of the ball. Also the level of longing was through the roof (which I absolutely love). This is a great historical romance if you love a hard working working woman, a dashing duke and lots of delightful descriptions.
