I want to give this novel 4.5 stars.. but I can’t. This book was actually great and a true page-turner. I finished it in 3 days with my busy schedule. The story is told from two perspectives… the wife and the husband. The truth unravels at well-timed intervals and the climax is worth the wait. It is a shorter novel but I would highly recommend it to those who like thrillers with surprising reveals. This is a straight forward plot novel and fast paced. Not a lot of literary fluff. Exciting and intriguing. If you want to curl up one evening with a book, a bath, and a glass of wine, this book is for you. Widely entertaining and an insight into the twisted lives of others.

3.5…for a shorter book I feel like it had a million different plot twists but overall entertaining!

This was a book that my wife and I chose to read because it was a quick, 6-hour listen via audiobook. (We drive to work together every other week and often try to pick books we can finish/listen to in a week.)

I went into it not knowing anything about it, other than reading the blurb on Libby. Boy! Was I in for a surprise!!

This follows a couple that finds their marriage in a time of turmoil and therefore they make an "arrangement". This arrangement basically says that they each get one night a week where they get a free pass to date others people (read: sleep with). No strings attached, no feelings or anything long terms. If they follow the rules, it should be easy and no one will get hurt and ultimately the goal is to make them come back together and value each other...until the rules are broken and people do get hurt.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say that I was pleasantly surprised by this one! There were a lot of plot twists that I did not see coming..at all! After reading a lot of thrillers, sometimes it's easier to pick out where a book might be headed or what you think might certain characters may or may not be guilty of. With this one, I was wrong almost every single time!

It's told from both the husband and the wife's perspectives, alternating with each chapter so it's easy to follow. I wasn't a fan of the narrators, however; I didn't let that sway my review and rating of the book - just a heads up for anyone else that might be checking it out on Audio.

The only reason that this didn't receive 5-stars from me is because there were sections that felt a bit slow/choppy and really just unnecessary to the story - but they were few and far enough between that it was easy to overlook leaving this a 4..maybe 4.5 star read.

3.5. Rounded up because I finished and was able to quickly, although I was really enjoying it until I got about halfway in, then the first twist/event happened and it almost lost me. I was able to guess one of the twists, which is unusual for me. Unfortunately I will not be rushing to read the second in this trilogy and may not ever even pick it up.
I do recommend this author if you are looking for a quick/easy read and a domestic thriller. Honestly, there are only so many places you can go with those so I give the author props for the writing style and keeping it quick-paced enough for me to finish it.
PS I really hate rating books. I think it should be recommended or not.

Can I do like 4.75 stars?? The whole thing was so great, I mean how could this kind of arrangement not go horribly wrong?! The end was a tad too over the top for me though. Ugh! If maybe they would have cut out Peters last chapter I would have been happier. Because now they are both apparently psycho/evil when I was hoping they were somewhat normal people. Oh well. 95% great story, fully entertained.
