hmmm this wasn’t exactly what i was expecting but it definitely wasn’t bad. this was a type of book i’ve never read before. this was incredibly interesting but a think a tiny bit repetitive and drawn out?

Also erst einmal was zum Cover. Ich finde dieses nämlich einfach wunderschön. Die Blumen auf dem dunklen Hintergrund gefallen mir einfach so gut. Die Geschichte selbst.... war leider nicht mein Fall. Der Klappentext hat mir anfangs sehr gut gefallen und mich angesprochen. Doch beim Lesen des Buches war ich wirklich mehrmals davor es einfach abzubrechen. Anfangs habe ich nicht wirklich den roten Faden der Geschichte gesehen, da wirklich nur der Alltag und die Schwierigkeiten einer Mutter der Unterschicht beschrieben wurden. Er ist auch nicht direkt fließend geschrieben sodass man öfters ins stocken kommt. Die Gedichte die hin und wieder drin vorkamen haben mir schon etwas gefallen, und die und das Cover sind auch die einzigen gründe für die Sterne. Die Handlung selbst kam mir auch etwas flach vor.

Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass ich einfach nicht die Zielgruppe bin für die das Buch bestimmt ist. Vielleicht lässt es sich auch in der Originalsprache ganz anders lesen.

Found this a bit of a dreary listen, hence taking me so long to get through. It was quite nice to get lost in as I sewed, but I can’t say I enjoyed it exactly.
