This book really captivated me! I enjoyed the storyline, the character growth, and the dynamic of the team. The ending made me want to scream!

As someone whose favorite character is Annabeth, I automatically knew this was gonna be one of my favorites in the series! I loved seeing all of the characters come together and go on an adventure together. This book is just so fun!

I started this after I got into a reading slump, so it did take me about a month to finish this book, but it was one of those things where I was in the reading slump, it took forever for me to find the motivation to read it, but once I did, I finished it in, like, two days. And that kind of happened with the next two books as well. I read the first two in a day each, right after the other. So, this isn't a slow book, I just read it slow. My advice is: If you're in a reading slump, don't read this while you're in it, because it's better to be able to fully appreaciate it while you're reading it, instead of forcing yourself to read it.

Sidenote: I got into my reading slump a year and a couple of weeks ago, and I'm still in it. If you're able to respond to these, can someone PLEASE tell me how to get out of it?! I'm desperate at this point ToT

This book was even better than I could've remembered. The drama, the intrigue! It was entertaining the whole way through, and I loved getting to see the different groups venture off onto their mini-quests. It was nice to see Percy and Annabeth grappling with new insecurities and persevering through them. The book was a bit long, but honestly it was worth it the whole way through. What a whirlwind!

Every time I read The Mark of Athena it destroys me. Be forewarned that this book remains tonally and totally consistent with the prior books in the Heroes of Olympus and Percy Jackson series while deftly delving into wildly dark topics. A very important book.
