For all lovers of Seinfeld, this is gold! So much fun laughing to myself in my car. Sure not every joke cracked a rib, but there was plenty to make me smile and laugh and jokes for everyone to enjoy. I liked how the later part of the book had modern Seinfeld takes, like camera phones, Uber, and even some Covid

Seeing the jokes you know so well written down really helps you appreciate the art and specificity of Seinfeld’s comedy. His evolution as a comedian is laid bare before you. The disappointing aspect is that fat shaming has been a part of his jokes and comedic sensibility since the beginning and continues to this day.

A lot of the sketches will be familiar from the show or his standup but still plenty of laughs.

Perhaps it’s my fault for assuming there would be more of a story to this book, like Seinlanguage, a book I must have read six times in middle school. Is This Anything is probably more of a coffee table book to flip through, though the jokes are in chronological order throughout Seinfeld’s life, which is nice. I listened to the audiobook, and while it was enjoyable to hear the jokes as told by the actual comedian, there’s only so long I want to listen to bits loosely strung together. It’s not like listening to a comedy album, because it’s pieces of routines. Reading it in smaller chunks may have been a better approach.

3.5 stars. Just a collection of his jokes from different decades with short introductions to each section (these intros are the only original material). Still hilarious, but if you're a fan you've heard a lot of this stuff before.

3.5 - definitely recommend the audio version, mainly for the moments when Jerry gets worked up into his Jerry voice.

I didn’t laugh during the first hour, and there were still more than four hours left. Not funny.
