Interesting account of one man's near death experience. George Ritchie was dead for nine minutes before being restored to life by doctors. In his account, he describes his remembered experiences of his "tour" in the world beyond death. Eagle Scout, college graduate, combat veteran, medical doctor, and psychiatrist, he seems reasonably credible, and his experiences often dovetail in extraordinary ways with my own understandings and beliefs about such things. Nonetheless, it is ultimately unverifiable by any means accepted by the world.

I like this book less because of the near death experience it describes, and more because of the message it has for how to live.

Gripping. I totally belive his experience and found many of the truths he shared to be congruent with my beliefs (he is not LDS). Not all out-of-body experience books are worth writing home about, but this one was thought-provoking, especially what he learned about hell on earth. I loved his description of the Savior. My only complaint is that the amazing part in the middle feels sandwiched by an introduction and a follow-up that aren't as compelling and felt a little drawn out. I'm proud of him for sharing, though. Wonder if he's still alive?

Wow. This true story of a man’s near death/return from death experience was fascinating to read. The way he learned and changed his ways after his experience felt very authentic. The book was a quick and interesting read and hopefully will remind me to love.

I always find near death experiences really interesting. The author is not of my faith but some of the things written in this book really parallel my own beliefs. It’s a very small, short book but find it an important read. One of the only books I have read multiple times.

What a profound experience!
Read this book. Don’t overthink it. Buy it and read it. I will add this one to the list of books I recommend to family and friends.

Don't loose sight of the BIG picture. Perspective is everything in the life we choose to lead. This was a fascinating account.
