The prose was sometimes nice, but I’m not sure what there is to enjoy about a book filled with racism, colonialism, rape, and underdeveloped characters. I had imagined this book to take on the mystique of adventure and the unknown, but it instead relied on faulty historical plot lines, unnecessary and pedophilic characters, and horrible statements about the indigenous people of the present day USA.
