Knowing this book was going to feature a Tarzan-like alien with the language barrier and kidnapping tropes, I thought I was going to really like it, especially since how much of a letdown the previous book was. Sadly, while I did quite enjoy those parts I mentioned, the plot was a confusing, unstructured mess. I have decided not to continue this series after this book since it started to feel like the author really isn't interested in writing dynamic and structured plots like she did for the first two books because characters just vibing together is apparently all you need to sell romance books these days.

As much as I love how much they care for each other, I still can't get over how Rukh's possessiveness in the beginning was quite predatorial (which I understand happens to many resonanced males but still). I like that Harlow was understanding and helped Rukh learn and develop language and social skills. Gosh, I so want
to see how all their babies look like. They sound cute 🥰🥺 I appreciate that all the mothers are caring for one another.

I know which book won't be competing for a place on my list of top blue barbarians.

It all made sense by the end, and was critical to the MMC's growth, but the kidnapping followed by the FMC just giving up on getting back to save the injured pair of blue males, choosing instead they must have died in a matter of hours (when they had at least a day's journey to get back to the healer to begin with) was aggravating. I didn't feel the MMC ever earned her trust and it grated on my view of their relationship.

But, as usual, Dixon does a great job of tying everything neatly together by the end, and the story was cozy and sweet overall. I think this will be a story that will resonate with certain people, but I am not one of the chosen.

Definitely not my favorite in the series so far but I did like the change in pacing and timeline with this one. Harlow was not as much of an intelligent badass like she was portrayed in Kira's story, which made me a little more disappointed. As usual I couldn't wait to turn the page and see what was in store for the next chapter!

One of my favourites from the series. Rukh is sweet, Harlow is strong and consistently optimistic. The drama near the end felt a little fabricated, but I don't mind.
