I listened to this on audio book so perhaps didn’t get the full effect of this book but it was very surface level. I don’t feel like I got anything out of this that I didn’t already know.

I really needed this book at this moment in time and glad I listened to the audio which Eggerue reads herself.
A short book with a big impact for be at the moment. Will probably buy myself a copy so I can underline, be reminded to talk care of myself and to return to in times like this.

I really liked listening to the Igbo proverbs, not only because the language sounds beautiful but because proverbs are so unique to languages and the parts of the world they're from, so it's always great to learn more of those. I especially liked the one about chickens and peeing, that one was hilarious!

The rest of the book falls a little flat though. There are a lot of blanket statements of what to do to become a better you without actually giving examples or further input on how to do that.
I still liked listening to it, Eggerue has a nice voice and, like I said, listening to the Igbo proverbs was a great plus!

It's like tweets in a book!
I follow her since ages and I love her twitter account but I don't like to read (Well, in this case listen to) tweets in books.
Some good ideas.
Beautiful quotes.
It's just not "WOW".
I don't like self-help books so much.
And I think it's important for us to look for others just as we look for ourselves. I don't know, but I don't like the stereotyping in relationships. Every relationship is different.
