"The plot revolves round a once lawyer cum broker, who is imprisoned for about six years. The FBI wants to set him free & to look for his predators to find a solution for a military operation. So, the outgoing American President is literally pushed to grant his freedom.
Suddenly after the freedom, the broker is forced to live in an entirely new atmosphere. To accustom in his new environment , he is forced to learn the foreign language completely & thoroughly. Then at certain point of time, he realizes that he has been used as a prey. So he escapes from both his enemies." (From Amazon)

There was too much going on with the plot that it fell flat.

I found this in my Grandma's bookshelf and I thought I would give it a read! Not John Grisham's usual style but I enjoyed the read. I found the pace to be quite slow and some plots a bit tricky to understand but I liked the faster paced ending.

John Grisham is a best-selling author of legal thrillers. Many have been made into movies: The Firm, The Client, Runaway Jury, and The Pelican Brief... to mention a few. It seems like every so often he gets bored. In 2001, he wrote a novel set in rural Arkansas (The Painted House) during the 1950. No lawyers. The book read like an autobiographical novel, except that the author was born in 1955.

It seems he got bored again in 2005. The Broker by John Grisham is not as far from his shelf containing dozens of legal thrillers. This book is a spy thriller. The book is engaging, but more for the John Grisham fan, as the the level of jeopardy and action is low for a spy thriller.

It’s going to have to be a no from me.

This book just wasn’t it for me. I kept rereading the same sentence over and over again and I was zoning out for chapter at a time. I really wanted to like this book. But I couldn’t. The only thing I could tell you about this book is that it’s a mystery and it takes place in Italy. (I think)

Maybe that’s why I didn’t like it, because it’s a mystery. I don’t know.
