A To Z Book Title Challenge: H

I’m just going to warn you, I’m going to rant. For this challenge I’m doing, I had a ton of ‘H’ books on my TBR and I was so conflicted over what to choose that I almost did a poll.

Very happy I took a chance. Lynn loves listening #audiobooks wrote mrs. Lennox avoided her usual tropes and characters with this novel. The narration was spot on!

Great story! Heartbreaking.

Contains: enemy to lovers, gfy, revange, first time gay seggs.

If you love enemy to lovers, this book is for you. It have everything you need. The story is really good, very well describe. The emotions are on point. The trope is straight to the point.... well not so straight.

I hate giving 3 stars bc normally it's because I really didnt like it but in this case it has nothing to do with the book. I gave 3 stars bc despite the quality of the book, I'm not a fan of enemy to lovers. But I'm so not a fan of egotistical manipulators, especially if it's coming from a parent.

So yeah I didnt love the book, But it is nothing that the author could do. It was out of her power, it's my reading tastes to me, this remains my humble opinion.

Lighter and more fun than I was expecting. It was fun to watch Ellison and Grey together at the beginning. I'm pretty sure the corporate takeover/stocks/venture capitalist stuff was completely unrealistic but luckily there wasn't too much of it.

Ellison and Grey were explosive together. From the first chapter to the last I was enthralled with this story. The chemistry, the banter, the fighting, I loved it all. Lucy Lennox has written another fabulous book with lovable characters, and a really cute storyline.

Grey was a hard-working financial prodigy who came from an impoverished background. He had a scholarship to Yale and a job lined up after graduation. Ellison came from old money. On a dare, Ellison took Grey into a closet at the country club where Grey worked, and they were caught in a compromising situation. This ruined Grey. The sad thing was that Ellison really was attracted to Grey, and was truly sorry the whole thing happened. Grey was unforgiving, and set out to ruin everyone involved.

Fast forward 15 years, and Grey is a billionaire. He takes over Ellison's family's firm in a hostile takeover. Long story short, they have mutual goals and end up pretending to be boyfriends at a Hamptons house party, where much of the story takes place. As is the way with all fake relationship tropes, they grow closer. But there's a misunderstanding and heartbreak...

I loved both sweet Ellison and stoic, commanding Grey, who needed to let go. Marcel, from Lucy's short story Marcel and Luca, played a major role.
