I thought it was just "okay". Entertaining for the most part, but not enough to keep me all that interested...I found myself just reading to get it done in some instances...nothing really memorable..

Loved the long final story about quitting smoking Tokyo. Definitely the best of a strong collection.

This book contains one of my favorite Sedaris stories ever, "Keeping Up." Sedaris is hilarious but I like a few of his more sensitive moments, like this story.

I'm huge fan of his other books, but many of the essays in this book just weren't as entertaining. Sadly, I think he has run out of material.

Hilarious. I actually listened to the audiobook while commuting. Sedaris made the long drives bearable.

I had never read anything by this humorist and didn't know anything about him. I picked up this book because I liked the cover and I am glad I did. Sedaris is hilarious and intelligent. I looked forward to reading chunks of this book any chance I got. I will definitely be reading his other books.

I ended up taking this one back to the library unfinished, in part because I had to share with my hubby, who enjoyed it more than I did, and it was becoming increasingly overdue.
Didn't hate it, didn't love it. There are a few very memorable lines and scenes here, and a lot of what felt like trying too hard to be either funny or profound. There was something self-conscious about this collection I haven't felt in Sedaris's other work. I imagine the pressures of fame make it harder to stay natural as an artist.

I love David Sedaris. He is so witty and tells great stories. Once again, I laughed out loud!
