This installment of the Dark Olympus series was the hardest for me to finish. It wasn't a case of the main couple lacking in sexual and romantic chemistry. I think the stumbling block for me as a reader was the workplace romance aspect of Apollo and Cassandra's courtship. It's one of my least favorite romance tropes, up there with surprise pregnancy and fated mates. I'm sure this novel will have plenty of fans, and the narrators delivered an excellent performance on the audiobook.
Not my favorite flavor of romance, but I'm sure many readers will find it satisfying. I'm knocking the star rating down a few points because, once again, I find myself somewhat frustrated by a lack of plot development. These are erotica novels, not high fantasy, but Katee Robert has been sprinkling little crumbs of worldbuilding throughout the Dark Olympus novels at a frustratingly slow pace. I get the sense that the novels are building toward a bigger climax (heh), but I continue to find myself hungry for more. So... good business practice, I guess, since I'll probably continue reading in order to find out what exactly is going on in this version of Olympus. I just hope it doesn't take another five books to get any major plot development.

I haven’t stopped reading the series, and this still made me want to read the next book. The romance is a little different than the others in the series. I like the power play portion, and I like how we got more plot for what’s happening in Olympus. Not my favorite in the series but also not bad at all.
