I didn't hate it, but it could have been much better. Olivia was impulsive, and did a lot of very stupid stuff because of it, but it was OK until she runs away because she sees Baldric with another female and didn't stop to ask who she was. Almost died, and that was annoying. You would think that after a week of traveling with him she would know better than to run off alone, in a dangerous place she doesn't know, especially when she has zero survival skills, per her account.
The smut was meh, and she was annoyingly indecisive, with the "kiss me. No, get away from me! Ok, it wasn't too bad, come here... No! Get off!" Baldric was too patient.

Olivia and the Orc

This book took me much longer to get into. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the characters, because I did. Olivia was a fun and reckless character right from the start and Baldric was a sweetheart. I think my issue was the lack of communication for so long. I was so used to the characters being able to speak to each other right away that the fact these two couldn’t for most of the book started to get to be too much.

I think once the communication was established, the story really picked up. I really enjoyed the book over all and I’m glad I stuck with it despite it not being my favorite of the series.

Olivia (h) and her friends, Panda and Quinn, are abducted from Earth only to have the spaceship crash on another planet, Maskah. The trio are captured and are on their way to be sold in a distant city. Baldric (H), an Orc/Daichin guard, finds himself attracted to her and ends up chasing after her as she tries to escape. Separated from the caravan, Olivia and Baldric have to work together to journey to the city on their own to find her friends. Communication issues, hazardous conditions, and more make for an interesting and entertaining read. Plenty of hot steamy action between Olivia and Baldric make for some very sexy good times. Can't wait for Panda and Quinn stories.

I love a smart Orc…

Baldric was a welcome surprise. He was so fun and really intelligent. He made up his mind he wanted to communicate with Olivia and set about learning her language. He was also thoughtful and not an overly aggressive alpha. Olivia was very wary at first but then I think she also came to trust Baldric. Their journey is an adventure and a sweet falling in love story.
