wow, i liked it even better than [b:tokyo ever after|54860605|Tokyo Ever After (Tokyo Ever After, #1)|Emiko Jean|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1601695675l/54860605._SY75_.jpg|73814218]!! since i enjoyed the first book so much i was sure that this one would fall short or that i would disappointed but i'm glad i was wrong on this one and that it instead turned out to be such a great read!!

one of my favorite thing about this series is how it has such lovable, well-written characters that i just can't get enough of!! i especially loved the devolpment of izumi's relationship with akiko and noriko and how we got to see them become best friends and such an amazing trio after hating each other for so long!! it was nice to see that they could bond over their moms' struggles and be there for each other!!

i also liked eriku a lot, although not so much the love triangle and romance overall. it is, for sure, what made this book a 4.5 star read instead of a 5 star read. part of it is defintely me not liking love triangles in general, but another part is the fact that
Spoiler izumi ended up with akio instead of eriku. i honestly found eriku a better choice and really don't understand why she didn't (mostly because she never really justified it). it just felt a lot like it was her not being able to get over akio despite moving on quite quickly.
however, i did really enjoy the whole fake dating scheme since i do love that trope!!

another thing i would say is that the beginning was defintely a bit long and boring. probably because it focused a lot on her mom's wedding which i didn't find to always be the most intersting to me specifically. it also did info dump a lot about the first book at the start which is good if you forgot a lot, but i felt it was a little more than necessary. however, it got much better as the book went on and the pace quicked and i became hooked!! despite the few problems i had with this book, i found it very enjoyable!! it was such a light read too and perfect for summer!! i would totally recommend if you read [b:tokyo ever after|54860605|Tokyo Ever After (Tokyo Ever After, #1)|Emiko Jean|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1601695675l/54860605._SY75_.jpg|73814218] (and if you haven't, read that and then this!!) because both books are so fun!! crossing my fingers that by some miracle [a:emiko jean|8178238|Emiko Jean|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1450336858p2/8178238.jpg] will release a third book in this series so i can get more of these superb characters!! ;)

This was such a cute series and I am glad that I picked it up.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first one because of the weird love triangle aspect. I wish Izumi had been left single at the end because it felt like she had to choose someone.

I also wanted more with her parents because their family dynamic was so cute!

The relationship between Izumi and her cousins was really well done.

Overall, this is a cute series.

Very cute and easy to read. Not as good as the first book honestly but I loved it all the same. I enjoyed the dynamic that the author used between the daughter and her parents.

I listened to this on audio and it was a fun, light read. This read very YA and I wasn’t a big fan of the love triangle or some of the more romantic scenes because they felt awkward… but that may have been because it was embodying the awkwardness of young love? I liked the first book - Tokyo Ever After - better, but I don’t have any big complaints here as it did what I wanted: give me a light story to follow for a brain refresh after reading 2 500+ page books

Ugghhhhghhhhhh Not only do I need this series to never end, I also need a PREQUEL of Mak & Hanako’s college years!
