this was a story that some older relative would tell a child at a campfire.
really enjoyed the tiger and the setting of the war seemed almost palpable. and I especially liked that the inspiration for this story came from the author's family who had a similar story happen to her.

My dad's stories
This book reminds of when my dad sits down and tells us stories of his childhood and life experiences. I've read a few stories by this author and I am so surprised how mutlltifaceted she is.
The narration was a bit grating.

A beautiful short story.
Moreno-Garcia is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I love learning about her heritage through her stories. This one was great. Solid story.
It felt more magical realism than horror to be part of a horror story anthology, but I enjoyed it either way.
