Caveat that this advice shouldn't be used in the context of an abusive relationship, and author does not appear to recognize that infidelity is abusive.

This book is filled with just more abuse. Acting like it's fine if a husband thinks his wife is lazy. Or that someone should be happy they're being called a bully because they could have done something worse. Hard no.

This book was clearly not meant for an audiobook format, if you have the ability I strongly suggest a physical copy. However it's hard for me to suggest it at all. Admittedly I will be using many of these "flash cards" as statements but the author had a narrow world view in the  field notes" WHY these things would be helpful in relationships. A lot of misogynistic, heteronormativity and mononornativity examples are used. Quizlet has a flashcard set of the cards on this book and it's worth the read more then this. It could be a good Gateway in to vulnerable conversations though.

2.5 stars. The "flashcards" are well thought out and succinct, but the field notes can be a bit wordy and full of too many stories. I also don't like how this is bound. . .it is no longer actual flashcards but just regular pages. As someone who clearly doesn't think before she talks, I could benefit from slowing down and using a "card" or two. So, I marked the ones most appropriate for me and will put them on actual flashcards to keep in my purse.

A book of flashcards to use in certain situations in which you're finding it difficult to communicate with your partner & a short description of how to use them/how couples in her therapy have used them effectively. The cover picture is what grabbed me & some of the cards/set ups I found insightful, but not overly helpful.
