a very solid sequel to an incredible first instalment. harper kept me hooked the whole way and i am still keen to read the last of the tale, which is always a good sign. i do think parts of the plot could be more thoroughly written; some actions that amara takes deserve more than the few lines that are given as explanation. but the novel is very entertaining, quite stressful (in a good way) and i am interested to know what happens next, so you can’t complain.

It wasn’t as captivating as the first book but that might be because the first set the bar so high. The major disappointment was that the sisterhood in The Wolf Den did not follow through in the second book.
