Read this book for my Contemporary Canadian Literature class. I was truly enjoying it until I was blindsided by the graphic rape scene... I wish that I checked the content warnings before getting to that part - I was surprised.

Note on trigger warnings - although there is some homophobia in this book, the book is written by a man who was openly gay in the 70's and the homophobia is a part of the main characters development.
