When I first started this book I really wasn't sure what to expect but the more it continued the more I stopped caring about where the author was taking me and just enjoyed the captivating writing style. This book was at times laugh-out-loud-so-suddenly-your-dog-gets-scared funny and at times raw and biting. Jennifer Fulwiler is clear and shockingly honest about her fears and shares them all with readers despite the judgements they may provoke. Overall a fantastic and thought provoking read.

Jennifer Fulwiler draws me in with her humor, personal stories and her touch of the everyman that she has in her writing. It helps me see how her journey helped her grow in her faith. Isn't her questions on motherhood and happiness the same ones we have all asked?

I adore this book, and hearing Jennifer Fulwiler read it made it that much better. Poignant, funny, encouraging and so down to earth, this is a must read for any mom with a big family and any mom trying to figure out how to pursue her passions in the midst of her calling as a mom. So good!

Loved this book! I’ve been a fan of Jennifer’s since I first heard her speak when I was in college. I admire her humor and authenticity. This book was a great read for me at this point in my life as I’m still trying to pin point my blue flame. I think I’ve got some ideas though...

Thank you, Jennifer!

My daughter, a sister in a teaching order, told me about this book on a recent family visit day. She was laughing so hard as she tried to describe a scene in the book, I knew then I had to read this one pronto. The author describes family life, and the trials and tribulations of being in the midst of it while pursuing her dream of writing. She has very positive insite into being a mom. I liked it and will send some copies to the convent. There's a waiting list there to read Jennifer Fulwiler books, she's so popular!

It is not exaggerating to say Fulwiler’s last book changed my life, and that’s too much to ask for twice, but this was also excellent: funny, thought-provoking, challenging.

Spoke to me so much in my current state in life. I laughed out loud at points and nodded my head in agreement at many others. I appreciate Jennifer for giving this perspective to the world. (Also super glad the Relaxman made it into the story.)

So many mixed feelings about this book. As a working Catholic mom, I went into this book a bit like a cat being plunged into a bathtub. That is, to say, I found the very description of it to be off putting. Why does it feel like every career woman is described, in a negative connotation, as a "workaholic"? That said, I felt strangely called to plod through this, hoping and perhaps even praying for some nuggets of wisdom or an "aha!" moment. I was ultimately left disappointed. It reads as one woman's apology or defense of daring to have an interest outside of her children. While there are small pieces of the book that resonated with me (for example, I quite appreciated how she grew to recognize her prideful inability to ask for help--because I suffer from the same), largely it was a prickly reading experience that I did not enjoy.

A truly enjoyable read. Moments of great insight and personal reflection, wonderful anecdotes, and a great sense of necessary humor!

There were definitely points made throughout the book that provided opportunity for conversation starters.
