Really engaging, and a quick read. My 10-year-old and I read this independently and both enjoyed it. Does a good job of placing Homo Sapiens in the context of the larger human family and explaining evolution and early human history in an accessible way while also acknowledging the unknowns.

Basically a Sapiens but for kids. I can only imagine volume two is basically Homo Deus for the same target audience.

This is a good book, very educational, which tackles the evolution of mankind and, as the title implies, how humans took over the world. It's neatly illustrated and kept visually interesting for the kids, but I was also genuinely interested in Harari's points here (note: I read this before reading Sapiens). I do recommend this book for younger readers who want to learn about human evolution, it's a thorough take on the subject and takes its audience seriously, while also being lighthearted and simple enough for children to understand.

A very fun exploration of early man with an ultimate guiding question, “What sets humans apart from all other living species?” His theory may surprise and delight you. Written for upper elementary in mind, as adults we can take away simple, digestible explanations of some complex ideas like, “corporations”. This is Sapiens Lite for interested parties, especially actual kids, parents, and educators. In other words, a good choice for people who like really cool history facts and enjoy telling said facts to growing minds!
