Mythology and romance! So good. This is what I wanted the Song of Achilles to be! It is full of adventure and reminded me of the Odyssey. Circe is also such a great lead. Seeing her change and grow throughout the book further proves her humanity. Gods may live forever and therefore the stakes are lower. Circe finds meaning in vulnerability and love.

I didn't really know anything about the story of Circe before starting this book but I love Greek mythology so I figured I'd enjoy it, and I was definitely right! The writing is very pretty as well, to the point that I found myself wanting to highlight parts just because the way Madeline Miller wrote was so nice.
One thing I found interesting was how relatable this nymph could be. I mean she had to deal with rape and stuff like that. She also had to do all these mom duties so this was definitely WAY more relatable than you would think it could be. There are so many characters and little side stories, I felt like there was constantly action going on. A little grossed out by the whole dating her baby daddy's kid thing but that's just Greek mythology for you.
Overall, great read and I would recommend it to anyone who is at all interested in Greek mythology or just entertaining stories in general!

The main reasons I finished this book: I hate leaving a book unfinished, even if I don't like it, and my boyfriend really wanted me to read it. I thought the first half was relatively boring. I really started to like it once Telegonus and the others were introduced. If the first part of her boring life was not written about as much and the exciting parts of her life were written about more, I think I would have liked this book more.
