I mildly enjoyed this book. Seeing Circe go from her godly infancy to becoming a force to be reckoned with was quite the adventure. How her interactions with mortals changed how she viewed the world, and how she eventually was mortal enough to die.

♥️ Madeline Miller is wriTing here! I’m trying to remember the last time I loved a character as much as I loved Circe - even with her idiotic, boy-crazed decisions (the poor thing). Such a good point of view. Of course, it is always a treat to read greek myths but the emotional depth that was displayed here! Unmatched

4 stars - I really liked it.

I feel like I have been looking for a book like this for a really long time. A book about gods, immortality, and their interactions with the mortals in the world. Basically Percy Jackson for more mature readers. This book ticked all of those boxes.

This was a captivating read. I was entranced by the mythical tales of Greek legends. The plot generally moved really well, and overall, it was an interesting read. Definitely hard to put down.

One thing that I really liked about this book was that we got to hear a bit about everything. Gods, nymphs, corruption, power, mortals, magic, witchcraft, history, romance, myths and legends. You name it, this book has it. It covered basically everything I enjoy when it comes to reading.

And, I especially LIVED for the Daedelus and Icarus mention!!!

However, this book loses a star, because I felt as though the last ten chapters or so really dragged on, were pretty predictable and lacked originality. The whole start of this book constantly kept me on my toes with surprises... What legend will we cover next? What twist are we going to add to the story? To say the least, the last chapters of this book were a let down and I definitely think that we could have had a more enjoyable, twist-filled, original ending.

Other than that, I would recommend this to anyone who has a sweet tooth for history and mythology.
