The Golden Boys by Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne is a dark high school bully romance. This is the first book in the Kings of Cypress Prep series.Ā

The book does come with a warning/caution "The Golden Boys are all smokinā€™ hot, but thereā€™s only one guy for Blue Riley, which means this romance isnā€™t a reverse harem. Also, full disclosure, this saga does contain strong bully themes. So, if youā€™re not into romances where hate turns into love (well ā€¦ eventually), and if you donā€™t like your heroes of the unapologetically alpha variety, this might not be the book for you. There is no rape or dubious consent whatsoever. However, due to adult themes and sexual situations, this oneā€™s only for the 18+ crowd."Ā

This is the first book of Rachel and Nikki's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was hooked from the very beginning. I loved that the book kept me on my toes. The back and forth between Blue and West is so hot and twisted!Ā

The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn't much of a surprise since its the first book in the series. I can't wait for the next book in the series to be announced so I can get more of Blue and West...and well of course Dane and Sterling.Ā

I would highly recommend this book if you like bully romances.

Ā The Golden Boys by Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne is a dark high school bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Neill Thorne, Lessa Lamb, and Sarah Puckett.

The narration was PERFECT! Sarah's voice was perfect for Pandora. It was exactly how I pictured the character when I had read the book. Lessa did an amazing job bringing Blue to life. I loved how Neill brought all the golden boys to life with different tones/voices.

I would highly recommend this book if you like bully romances, dark romances, or contemporary romances. This is a MUST READ series!

I started reading this series and thought ā€œwellā€¦ here we go again.ā€ It started out like 60 other books Iā€™ve read. I almost quit at 12% but I have a 50% rule for myself. Iā€™m so glad I stayed! I devoured books 1-3. I love the mystery, the plot, the characters. I even hated Pandora for a while and didnā€™t think that character should be involved, but my opinion on that also died down. Iā€™m excited to read the next three!

Iā€™m slightly on the fence here!

I enjoy a bully romance, most of the time. I wasnā€™t sure Iā€™d like this at first but it pulled me in and I couldnā€™t put it down.Iā€™m having a love/hate relationship with West. Heā€™s a typical bully in terms of enemies to lovers bully romances but I havenā€™t decided if I like him yet.

Iā€™m torn as to whether I love it or hate it lol. I knew it was a series and would end on a cliffhanger but it wouldā€™ve been nice to have at least one question answered. Certain things just donā€™t make sense yet from Hunterā€™s vague warning, Vin lying for God knows what reason, and West.s secret, thereā€™s just so much going on at once. I get it, we need to read the next two books, but give me something! Iā€™m enjoying the read so far though.

This was a juicy little surprise!
I did not expect to love this as much as I did;

I LOVE a bully romance so knew Iā€™d be in this, what I didnā€™t expect was to relate to Blue so much.
Being that parent figure to Scarlett and reading her having to do everything for her sister, hit home but I digress.

I have a lot of questions and itā€™s keeping me interested;
Who did hunter kill? Who is Robyn?
Why did vin have a phone with blues picture?
Whoā€™s out to get hunter?
Will blue and west actually fucking talk WHO KNOWS

After reading SO many bully books it's nice to read one where the bully isn't quite the Dbag you expect. He's crap, don't get me wrong, but he's not as hateful as so many other books out there. His behavior makes the (inevitable) connection between the MCs more believable.
