Initially read this back in high school (like when it came out, I'm old). I remember being obsessed with it back then and I can see why. As an adult it was a LOT more angsty than I remembered. Also, the characters are very different from the movie if you've ever seen that. I actually prefer the extreme teen angst to the rather shy and socially-awkward Nick and Norah in the movie. For nostalgia factor + .25 stars.

while i liked the overall premise of the book - the two of them spending the night together and clicking and whatever -, i didn't particularly enjoy the execution.
it was really interesting to have both their povs, but there were way too many times when i found norah insufferable.
especially her obsession with nick's sexuality and her thought process behind it annoyed me so fcking much, and was downright homophobic at times.
her "girls should be allowed to be turned on by two boys kissing just like boys are turned on by two girls kissing"-thought made me so damn uncomfortable, and i really don't understand the totally unnecessary lolita-mention - it disgusted me, along with her "the gays get all the good guys"-mindset.
i also hated the way tris was portrayed, and i mostly liked nick's pov more than norah's, although i did have my issues with it, too.
overall, it was a quick read, but i wouldn't have finished it, if it had more than 200 pages.
