Fairies must find a wand in order to save Fairy Haven. They come to learn of the lure of a wand's power in the meantime. Beautifully illustrated once again.

For whatever reason, I’ve been putting on the Disney Fairies films in the background while working these last few weeks, so I decided to bring this nostalgic interest of mine over to my time off work as well by reading these books which I’d never had the chance to read when I was younger. And, with all of my love for this franchise, what in the Bizarro Universe was this?
I mean, I get wand shenanigans, needing to appease a magical creature who never forgets a promise, and I’m even willing to turn a blind eye to casual ableism just this once (Rani being practically forced to wish a new pair of wings for herself even though she’s perfectly fine without them — which doesn’t mean losing them in the first place wasn’t a traumatic experience, but that’s a given; and don’t even get me started on the ‘incomplete’ Sarah Quirtle business)… but I am absolutely not willing to accept that there is anything remotely romantic going on between Tink and Terence. Just… no. Idk, but it really really rubbed me the wrong way.
Still, I enjoyed spending time with a favourite franchise from my childhood and will definitely be right back for more, so it’s 4/5* for this one.

This second book in the Neverland Fairies trilogy is an adventurous and page-turning read, with high stakes for the characters. New elements of magic and fairy cultures are introduced, as well as more time spent with the mermaids. It is a fitting sequel.
