First, I will talk about why this book wasn't 5 stars. I felt like the beginning was boring. I wasn't hooked. For me a 5 star has to be amazing front to back. Once you get past like 20% the book really picks up.
It is a little politic heavy, so if you don't like that you might not like this book as much as I did. My favorite thing in books like this is the politics; I have always said that I wished the series focused more on the politics and the world, not the romance. This book was that. Less romance and more politics. Just the perfect balance.
I feel like the whole series we have been talking about how Warner wasn't being fully transparent with Juliette. We got some of the mysteries of Warners past. I really feel like we got some serious character development with Warner. I am really glad that we are getting character development from the both of them. Mostlikely in the later books this will just strengthen their relationship.
We have to address the elephant in the room, that plot twist......... I did not in a million years see that coming. I am VERY interested to see where this goes. I think it could make for a very interesting story line.
With that ending I am rushing to jump right into the next one. She definitely has me hooked now.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Torture, and Violence
