I had to pick up book 2 because of the cliffhanger at the end of the first book. If that cliffhanger hadn’t happened, I don’t know that I’d be reading this one 💀 I did still enjoy this one more than book 1 so that’s something. Tali and Dea finally got all the info they needed about Oz and Hendrix so that they could move accordingly. The spice was still 10/10 and maybe even improved a bit as we learned more about Oz and Hendrix’s backgrounds and businesses. Im definitely not invested enough to finish out the series but this one was easier to finish than book 1. I read a couple reviews before picking up the series and people were claiming the MMCs were highly intelligent and I just didn’t get that vibe. Are they calculated ? Sure. But idk it wasn’t giving me genius vibes. Like yes they’re doctors and businessmen and tech savvy but those are things that are studied obvi. I wasn’t picking up on a natural genius mind level. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Overall, it got me closer to my book goal for the year so there’s that at least Lmao. Final rating 3.75.

I’m literally OBSESSED 🤩😍 I have no words. This was sooo good. I love how the author slowly introduced more characters into this story making the transition from book 2 to book 3 really smooth. I also loved how she wrapped up the plot of this but also left some hanging so that it can be integrated into the next book(s) without it being choppy or confusing, etc. You do get an epilogue at the end of this book but it’s to help prep you for one of the plot lines taking place in book 3.

I truly appreciate an author like E. Bowser she is listening to her reader cause the content warning at the beginning is one of my favorites parts of this book. If I had gone in thinking this was the end and it ended like THAT, I think I might have pressed charges. So you can’t tell me content warnings don’t matter. Now let’s be for real. Ain’t nothing changed we still have a group of clinical deranged, highly intelligent, Black men doing a whole lot of gang shhh. But what I love most is that a major theme of the book is Black men giving Black women a safe space to be freely and wholly themselves. Now I done gone a fallen for the whole crew. Which is another thing I love big! They all trust each other deeply evident by all the voyeurism amongst the group and that ish was sexy AF! But then they’d turn around and threaten to shoot each other over flirting. Lmao! The pacing of the story is a little up and down but that makes sense, considering it’s day to day stuff, with a high intensity plot. While this does end on a small cliffy -nothing compared to the first book- all of the major storylines are wrapped up. Leaving the storylines for what are essentially the side characters stories to continue. This is an amazing series thus far and I can’t wait to see how much crazy is hiding down this rabbit hole.
