‘Before The Sky Fell’ is a perfect addition to the ‘Icarus’ series. The prequel gives us more of an insight and better understanding of what happened before ‘Killshot’.

Liv is such a strong, independent character and we see that once again while she’s growing up but we also see the vulnerability.

After the heartbreaking incident which left her and her brother orphans Liv is determined to keep them together; by any means necessary even when the douche of a social worker through a spanner in the works. Nothing will stop her from keeping herself and her brother together.

We also get to see how Liv and Ry came to be best friends and the rocks they are to each other in ‘Killshot’. I love their relationship, and Ry’s ‘I don’t take no for an answer’ kind of attitude. She barrelled into Liv’s life and refused to give up and go away when Liv told her to. They are the perfect friends.

Aria has done a brilliant job writing from a teenage perspective and really drags you into the story. You can visualise what it happeneing and feel the emotions every character is feeling.

Whether you have read ‘Killshot’ or not you will become engrossed in this series just by reading this novella.

Well done Aria for yet another engrossing read. Now just to wait for book 2.
