Stepbrother’s Never Gets Old

I am really enjoying the Crimson Club Series from Willow Dixon. This is the second book I have read in this series, of course I read the last one first because I have no impulse control.

This was a fast paced, easy read, perfectly smutty book. The character development was great, I truly cared about Gray and Caleb and wanted to see them get their HEA.

I am also seriously impressed by the way consent, and mental health issues are treated in each of the books I have read by this author. It’s a subject that can be difficult and in this series it has been written in a way that is sensitive and respectful. This book also discusses aftercare beautifully. I haven’t read any books that address aftercare in any meaningful sense and this book does it beautifully.

This book was a welcome break from the dark romance genre that I love, but it’s great to have a read that just feels good and delivers in the smutty content that I love. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series and the interconnected series that proceeds it.

•MM Romance
•Stepbrothers
•Forced Proximity
•Hurt/Comfort
•Aftercare

3.5 round up
Extremely steamy and smutty; simple plot but characters were kinda lovable. Skipped through all the smut though but I would guess this is perfect for those who are into dominance (?)

I enjoyed the characters Caleb and Gray and their relationship developing from being practically strangers even while being step brothers to actually being in a relationship. I liked that they were open with their communication so much, was not expecting that.

Ok I loved Grey and Caleb. They were both wonderful characters. It was fun to see their relationship evolve and I loved catching up with some of the guys like Eli, Kai, and Alex. The Crimson Club guys were fun, too. 3.5/5 spice levels.

Caleb and Graham hate each other, even though they don't really know each other. Caleb is a nurse that's been led to believe his stepbrothers are perfect and that he can never measure up. Graham is an exotic dancer on the edge of being homeless and convinced his step brother is the golden child with the family he never had. But it's when Graham is beaten up and Caleb decides to keep an eye on him that they begin to realize both of them had been lied to. They both have gone through things that have traumatized them, Graham a bit more than Caleb, but when they finally realized they loved each other, it was super sweet and emotional.

This book has side characters from the Never Have I Ever series and should be read after you finish the other series.

This was a fun time. I liked the characters, the steam was good, and the writing was well done. I will say that I was shocked by how open the communication was between the characters. I've never read a relationship where they were so forthright and open about what they wanted from each other. It was refreshing.
