I was blown away by this graphic novel! It was incredible how much was packed, and packed well, into the story. There was great character development, not only for the MC, but for side characters too. The plot was compelling and read like any great superhero story. The art style was cool and made the action, of which there was a lot, easy to follow. I docked a half star because I felt like Eric and Samantha got easy, undeserved redemption arcs, and the storyline regarding Lolo and James’ mum was a little half-baked.

I feel like this would be a great read for teens. The plot is a bit dark but I really liked the MC Lolo Wright. This would probably be good for fans of DC comics. I will say that some of the exposition was a little much and I wish it had been a series instead of a standalone.
