February 15th 2021,

I read this book for a long time, I need to re-read this book to make any review. I just want to share what's in my mind when I finally finished this book.

Lost count of how many times I’ve read this. A forever favorite.

This was not at all what I was expecting it to be considering what the movie is...

Alice in Wonderland has always been a favorite of mine, and The Annotated Alice reveals how much more joy can be found in Lewis Carroll's classic story of a little girl who escapes the rules and regulations of Victorian childhood for the rules and regulations of Wonderland. The Annotated Alice presents the original text alongside additional illustrations from varied artists, reader answers to Carroll's famous riddles, and a wealth of entertaining commentary based on the cultural references of the time.

I just couldn't get into this. Maybe it is just me but I found it totally confusing and such a mess. I couldn't even bring myself to think it quirky or just whimsically silly. I was expecting to love this and I am disappointed that I didn't.

I love Alice's Adventures in wonderland, but I think that what I like is the potential of other stories possible with this world. The book in itself is good, it's a children's book that is quite enjoyable, but I rather see it as a monument, an inspiration for other books.
