I don't think I've ever cried this much when finishing a book. It deals with grief and life post losing the most important people in the most gorgeous way. It's a road trip book, set between Germany and Austria. I didn't think the important stuff was skimmed over - quite the contrary, I loved that the book seemingly addressed a younger reader, yet still retained depth, and was subtle and nuanced. My mum insisted I read it while I was home as we have a lot of shared grief. When I finished the book, crying, I run to weep in her arms.

screaming, crying, throwing up. 

(Is it the peak of literature? No. Is it a heartfelt book that portrays emotions in a really raw way and made me bawl my eyes out? Very much so.)
