• this is such a fun idea for a series, I wish more comic readers were familiar with it
• Cassie and Vlad are a great duo, I love the way they're written and the way they play off each other
• I'd like if this series was a little more spooky given its horror themes, but nonetheless, the stories are relatively well written
• the crossovers and returning slashers are a hit or a miss - the Evil Ernie comic, for example, was great, but the Chucky one wasn't so fun; crossovers are all dependant on which character is featured

Mediocre attempt at tackling horror movie tropes. Characters are flat and uninspired. Each story is a retread of the last. Mostly boring with some beautiful artwork in a few issues.

Honestly, a lot of fun and addictive with lots of gore and monsters to hunt with some nice touching human stories like the platonic relationship between Cassie the stand-offish goth and her sidekick, the simple and loyal Vlad. The biggest downside was the artwork changing drastically deep into it which threw me off for a while. Also, the stories started feeling repetitive, confused, and it didn't have a successful overarching narrative linking the whole thing together for build up and catharsis. I would probably recommend the first half of the series which I enjoyed a lot before it started going downhill from then on.

Cassie Hack is the daughter of the slasher known as the lunch lady. Once she found out she killed her mom and has been hunting slashers ever since, with her friend Vlad.

The first Omnibus has a nice selection of Hack/Slash comics, with a fun selection of characters and Slashers. I loved Cassie and Vlad and think that they play off of each other in an engaging and funny way. If you enjoyed comics like Deadpool, Razor, or even the Walking Dead you will probably enjoy this one too.
