this pretty much sums up my feeling for hamlet:

I enjoyed it as much as I am capable of enjoying Shakespeare. It was interesting and tragic, but the youtube video sums it up best.

I actually really love this play. I read it once in high school and then once more in college for my World Drama class, and both times that I read it, I found something new to take from it.

This play was required reading my senior in year in high school and I'm glad it was, otherwise I might not have read it. Its one of Shakespeare's tragedies and therefore not as outright enjoyable as some of his other plays but it is still an important work.

I read Hamlet in preparation for a Hamlet-inspired science fiction novel I’m planning to read soon, because I didn’t really know the story and wanted to be able to catch possible references or quotes in the retelling. Same as with the other Shakespeare plays I’ve read over the past few years, I listened to an audio performance of the play while reading along, occasionally stopping to read explanatory footnotes if the language was unclear. The best part of this play is definitely the main character, I really loved his emotion, his wit, his use of humour in dark circumstances. And Shakespeare use of language is of course amazing, so many puns and other wordplays.

TOO COMPLICATED FOR MY LITTLE MIND

A delightful curriculum reading that offers the thrill that it promises. Ophelia's death and the scene where Hamlet accuses the Queen of committing crime against both God and morality are two instances that stuck with me the most. The play itself is full of metaphors and clap-backs that make even a 21st century person like myself gasp or nod in more than simple agreement.

Hamlet's despair, the desire to have his revenge, Laertes' vengeance, it all makes you feel so involved and flipping a page after page. It's obvious why Shakespeare's are considered timeless and he himself is someone we know very little about, yet he's given us so much to look up to and reference for all the future times.
