A sweet romantic comedy with two people who feel unready for anything serious tumbling into a loving relationship on accident. I love the discussion of hard topics and personal history that they each bring into the relationship, but they each balance each other out.

Carlos is just good people. Liked him when we met him in The Wedding Date and loved this story for him. He's a keeper.

Like all of Jasmine Guillory's FMCs, Nik is a really believable, relatable strong professional woman. Her insecurities are there, but not dominating her life... They just get in the way of her romance... Which is what she works through in this book. With Carlos. Who, did I mention, is the best... 😉

It’s a very light fluffy read, there’s a lot of plot holes and it is a bit random with what it throws in and the drama started and ended so quickly just wrapping up the book! but I still got through it and looked forward to picking it up whenever I had the chance!

This book was so incredibly boring! I feel like I listened to hours of two people just continuously going out to eat while talking about nothing. There were no stakes and no development. The two leads had no strong personality and no chemistry with each other. The dialogue was very cookie cutter and lacked a natural flow. Even the sex scenes were very bland. Everything in this book felt so scripted and predictable. The ending conflict was a chore to get through.

I felt that the author really wanted to write a diverse and feminist romance, so she forced in a lot of speeches about body-positivity, antiracism and feminism that felt so unnatural and unrealistic. I want all those things in a story, but I want there to be an actual love story with characters that I can root for. Instead, I felt the author was just standing on a soapbox rather than writing about a good story with fun characters.
