I really like cute stories that I can read in one day. This is one of those. Easy to read and enjoyable.

A "new" author I love. She's like Meg Cabot without the crap... or the gray areas. She's funny. She's easy to read. She's perfect for teen readers. This book's story is about a girl who decides that she learns some great life lessons while working as a perfume promoter at the mall. She gets herself into some pretty sticky situations while trying to prove that her best friend's boyfriend is two-timing her. Cute, cute story.

This one of the authors that I met at a signing the other day at Barnes and Noble. She's pretty cool. Learn more about her at her blog:

My 200th book of the year....
I would like to thank... the Dollar Tree where I got this book from...
It really wasn't too bad though. I quite enjoyed the ending
Spoiler How dare that cheating boyfriend try to get forgiveness in such a jerkish, insincere way! Loved how the older sister told him off tho.

It's a Mall World After All by Janette Rallison follows Charlotte who works as a perfume sprayer at the mall. Charlotte is working when she sees her best friend's boyfriend Bryant flirting with another girl in the food court. Colton, Bryant's best friend, foils her attempts to catch Bryant over and over. The two work together for NHS organizing a dance and a community service program that's close to Charlotte's heart and sparks start to fly.

This was a great light and fun romantic comedy. Charlotte is the type of girl that I'd like my daughter to grow up to be. She's not perfect but she's smart and cares about others. A large part of the plot revolves around her helping a needy boy get shoes for his mother. The relationship between her and Colton is healthy and sweet. The supporting characters are all well written and play their parts perfectly. I finished this book in a few hours and was unable to put it down.

Appropriateness: There is no adult content in this book. The romance which is the focus of the book is sweet and the characters are good role models. I would recommend this book to teens 11-14 with it not being inappropriate for younger girls who want to read a romance.

3.5 stars. Yes, it's teen fluff. But sometimes I like fun, clean, laugh-out-loud fluff that I can read in a few hours and that makes me feel young again. :-) (And I especially appreciate that Janette Rallison's books are clean, not to mention hilarious. I will definitely recommend them to my girls in a few years.)

I’ve read this book twice: once as a pre-teen and once as a college student. It’s just as cute, funny, and enjoyable the second time around. The narrator has a strong voice and is very witty, and the book is largely dialogue-driven, making it a very easy and fast read. This is a great lighthearted book to break a reading slump or to captivate a young bookworm who lives for the romantic subplots in her children’s and YA literature. I wouldn’t normally give books like this (lighthearted and quite juvenile) five stars, but this is teen chick lit perfection.
