don't know whether to rate this a 3 or a 4...being generous

This felt like it should've been a short story, a lot of things that I feel should have been elaborated on were simply and sluggishly described very quickly- then the author moves on. It can be really frustrating sometimes, I know the author is trying to convey some unnerving sense of what we do not know but it doesn't translate well in a book.

Added to my “wtf did I just read” list. I have no idea what happened. It was really good and compelling. I’m a lil mad I didn’t get more answers but I did watch Lost for 6 seasons so it’s okay I’m used to it and this gave similar vibes lowkey. Need to read the rest of the series in hopes it makes sense lol

OG: Absolutely top-tier creeping-unescapable-dread vibes. Almost didn't read this because the movie left me so meh a few years ago and now I've shifted from meh to furious because this was SO much better than the movie, HOW was the movie so whatever it was?? Anyway brb immediately ordering the next two

Pre-Absolution reread: This is really so good. I like the Southern Reach books better than the other JVM books I've read, but his writing is always so different and rich.
