Oh, my God. This book is heartbreaking and beautiful all at once.

I thought this book started off great and I was beginning to think I'd be pleasantly surprised, but about halfway through, well, the cheese just got too thick for me. I seriously thought I was going to gag on all the melodrama. This is a Lifetime movie times 100. Actually, it might work better as a Lifetime movie. It should star Ann Heche, who narrated the audio version, and she was really the best part. I guess if you like sappy, sentimental, forced plot-line romances, then this book is for you.

With the amount of James Patterson books that exist and with the ratings for this one being so high I expected better. I just didn’t care about the characters. They didn’t feel real and it felt like Patterson was trying to think of every awful thing that could happen and write it in. It just didn’t resonate.

Also the writing style?? Things like “wham, bam, thank you, Sam” and “soooooooo”/“goddddddddd” get old when you write them out to emphasize every couple of pages.

Good read that I read in a few days. It was a bit too sweet in parts but still a nice story overall

what a hallmark special of a book. a woman reads letters written to her by her grandmother, who is now sick, while at the same time, she gets over her lost husband and child, and falls for the next door neighbor. ugh. WAY TOO GIRLY! ick.

I was given a pile of second hand James Patterson books not long ago and this was among them... I didn't know he wrote romance and my god it was really really good. Brilliant. Amazing. I fell in love and devoured it in around 3 hours front to back. James Patterson is one of my favourite authors and now I've found his romances I love him even more. Something different from his thrillers and crime.
Easy reading with short chapters. A very cute story but parts had me tearing up and very emotional. A brilliant, cute ending of not one love story but two. A real page turner. A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend.
