What a great book.  This book is not sing-song at all.  It has a heartbeat all its own. It reads to a drum cadence that always hits the beat.  The rhymes work, and it’s a joy to read out loud.  I want to do this at a Storytime.  Plus learning about some of the various ghosts in the White House, was a fun little extra.

As a history nut, and someone who dreams of going to D.C. someday, I thought this book was great. I loved the homages, the legends of paranormal behavior, that take place at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The red room, the paintings, it is all easily recognizable to readers.

It's long textually, but there are rhymes so that does help with cadence and flow. And I also appreciated that this was the author's true to life experience (in some ways) when he visited the White House in 2009. You'll notice Barack and Michelle Obama's presence =)

Another preparation read for my storytime gig. Funny enough, we just recently released an episode of This Podcast Doesn't Exist on this very topic! It was fun to see the various ghosts pop up in illustrated form.
