A great story with a lot of hidden secrets to discover throughout the pages. A journey of finding ones past so she can live her future.
I enjoyed this book a lot, with it’s flawed characters and a great friendship that many people might not understand at times but overall everything felt so real and although it’s angsty, the feels good feeling was perfect delivered by the author.

Messy, Wonderful Us.. what a delightful story. It is not all sunshine and roses, this one is an emotional roller coaster for the characters and the reader. Mostly set in beautiful parts of Italy with 2 main characters that are likeable and easy to care about. I was hoping it was all going to work out for both of them.

Allie is the sensible, research assistant who finds a letter in her grandmothers room that rocks her world. Suddenly there is a secret from her mother’s past that she needs to know more about. Her mother passed away when she was young and her grandmother refuses to talk about it. Her best friend is Ed and he has suddenly left his wife of 2 years, seemingly out of the blue. Together they travel to Italy in search of answers. Allie wants to know more about this man from her mother’s past and Ed needs to sort his head out and decide where his life is going. They both get a lot more than they bargain for.

Thanks to Simon and Schuster and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

I was utterly captivated by Messy Wonderful Us, it stole a piece of my heart!

This bittersweet tale about the messy side of love, relationships & the way they shape our lives. The characters are so relatable and real I laughed and cried along with them and for them reading these pages.

I don't want to give to much away and ruin it, so all I will say is this stunning Italian setting, a heart-breaking plot with gasp-worthy twists and turns makes this a poignant, uplifting story one you will not want to miss!

All the stars and a piece of my heart, it has gone straight up there and joined the ranks of my all-time favourites Me Before You and PS I Love you for me.

Thank-you EDPR for sending me a copy in exchange for an open & honest review.

Old secrets plunge Allie and Ed on a trip to unravel the past and themselves. This book got me hooked, even if I felt the ending was slightly overdone. Needed a bit more from Ed as a character, I think. Massive Lake Garda wanderlust!

This is actually a 4.5 but I'm opting for a 5, since I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this story!
What a page-turner! I loved the fact that the characters were flawed but likeable; the pining engaging but not naive; the writing evocative and effective. And unlike other reviewers, I did NOT see that plot twist coming!
