A solid conclusion to the trilogy, this copy also has the appendix additions for even more Middle Earth goodness

The appendices were fantastic. They gave more depth to the tale.

This was not my favorite of the three. I was expecting more action and less talking- you know the whole “show, don’t tell” kind of thing. There were some parts that just drag because of this and it really jars you from the mood. That being said, the story was satisfying and I really appreciated the ending here (maybe even more than in the movies). I enjoyed how nicely it all tied up and loved getting to know the side characters a little better. Overall the book was still fun and I would recommend this book to any fan of the series.
