I think I prefer novels to graphic novels, but I still imensly enjoyed this. It was very witty and funny. It took me a minute to adjust to the way information was portrayed, in that I also needed to look at the pictures. But in the end it was a very fun read.

To taki powrót do dzieciństwa.

Read this in a single afternoon at probably a third my English reading speed; from my French learning perspective first, found this a surprisingly breezy read with only a few dictionary look-ups (most towards the end) so maybe I'm improving more quickly than I suspected. I do still feel like I'm missing some of the puns/cultural references though.

As the first installment in the Astérix series this is attractively presented and a decent start - some of the inconsistencies in plotting and character do show through as Goscinny was clearly still working through what he wanted the series to be in this serialized form but a fun read nonetheless.

The first comic in the series introduces our little Gaulish village keeping up their resistance against the Romans with the help of their druid Getafix's magic potion and the shrewdness of their warrior Asterix and the menhir delivery guy Obelix (who fell into the magic cauldron as a baby but still keeps making excuses to have some magic potion whenever he can. Vitastatistix the village chief wanders around the village on a shield carried by 2 men and offers advice whenever needed.

This comic has the druid getting kidnapped by the Romans and it's upto Asterix to try and save him. The comic is funny and a quick read.

A best way to increase the number of books on your read list.

Was feeling shitty so I decided to read one of my favourite comics when I was younger. Somewhat did the trick
