Lucy Rivers and Connor Brown bring this intense, raw, and emotionally charged story to life with powerful narration that perfectly captures the characters’ trauma, resilience, and chemistry.
It’s a dual narration.
It’s a dual narration.
Honor endures unimaginable abuse at the hands of her husband, Gideon, a dangerously powerful DA. Her escape from his clutches sets the stage for a gripping tale of survival, healing, and unexpected love. Along the way, Honor, now Cleo, meets Fox, a hardened ex-military bodyguard with his own troubled past. Their slow-burn romance is riddled with trust issues, explosive chemistry, and moments of tenderness.
This book isn’t just a romance—it’s a psychological exploration of healing after abuse, combined with elements of suspense, action, and steamy moments that keep you turning the pages.

Review:
This book was a quite dark romance so I would recommend the trigger warnings before giving it a read.
The book follows the story of honor/cleo who Is a domestic abuse survivor, who is on the run from her abusive husband. Honor stumbles across a small town where she becomes an assistant for an elderly women named Helen. Helen’s grandson Fox who is a retired vet and now body guard comes home due to facing his own nightmare and ends up falling in love with Cleo.
The story shows both “Cleo” and Fox breaking down each others walls, each one helping the other to become stronger. Fox is a protector so naturally he becomes Honors.
The story is intriguing and keeps you hooked over every twist and turn. As I mentioned this book does follow so really dark themes so I would always recommend reading the trigger warnings as this book isn’t going to for everyone. However I personally enjoyed it.
I gave this book a 4 star. Please read yourself before judging.
