I actually really liked the plot and storyline of this YA book. Unfortunately I was distracted by some errors. In the beginning the main character, Paige, goes to a suburb and the narrator describes the grass growing over the sidewalks in just 6 days, then Paige goes to another suburb and the grass is winter brown. Later in the book they are picking ticks off the dog and there is a snowstorm that afternoon. These issues with setting were distracting and took away from the storyline as the narrator became unreliable.

I do love a good “everyone’s dead except us” story

I really enjoyed this book. Am I wrong for wanting more romance between Paige and Trey? Carson did a spectacular job of making our MCs very believable and likable. In regards to the character development nothing felt forced. In fact I wanted more! This is definitely a sci-fi thriller/romance…but the sci-fi part got a little boring to be quite honest. I would read a romance novel from Carson anytime.

This was just really messy. The characters felt unfinished and the romance was completely out of nowhere. I had so many questions that never were answered. The ending felt so lackluster. The beginning was very intriguing and I had high hopes, but it just fell short for me.

It was so good!! The plot and characters were greatly thought out and well put onto paper! 10/10 would recommend!
