I like these cozy mysteries and Hamish is a fun detective. Reminds me of Agatha Christie and Murder, She Wrote type of mysteries.

2021 REVIEW - RATING: 4 STARS

Poor Hamish is heartbroken when Priscilla Halburton-Smythe brings her London playwright fiance home to Lochdubh. After their engagement party, one of the guests, Captain Bartlett, is murdered on a grouse hunt. Everyone at the party is a suspect, and are requested to stay on till the mystery is solved. Hamish is excited to be on the case so he can be around his love, and find the murderer. Another fun light story.

Another book another murder to be solved by hamish macbeth which he seems to be doing a very outstanding job as it is.
A man named Bartley lady player I believe and not liked by many people at all throughout the parties evening, however its all fun and games when a murder happens and that it needs to be solved before anything else happens oh wait another murder but I can't say who it is that gets murdered at all.
In my opinion I am really liking the hamish macbeth series still as it isn't letting me down at all, I am more loving the Scottish Detective and his way of investigating, I just hope in the next book he gets a rest from these murders, but in all honesty I don't know if he will ever get a break at all.
I recommend yous give the hamish macbeth series a go to see how you all cope with it as they are very easy to read.

So, based on the first two books, this series is just a whole lot of fun. Campy, vividly drawn characters, spiced up with a murder or two, and neatly wrapped up in about 200 pages. I'm certainly enjoying them.
