There's not much of a story here, but I like the message -- and the cute illustrations.

It started out fun, but kind of petered out to just meh. Fantastic illustrations, I probably won't use it for story time.

A Kitten Tale by Eric Rohmann is one of my daughter's collection of cat books. We bought it at last year's book fair. I knew she'd like it from the adorable four kittens on the cover.

The story teaches the seasons of the year. From spring through fall three of the four kittens worry about the upcoming winter snows. The fourth kitten says he's looking forward to trying something new.

When winter comes the adventurous kitten eagerly goes out to try the snow. The others need some convincing. I wasn't sure how things would play out. Would the three be vindicated when the fourth came back cold? Or would the others learn to have fun in the snow?

The book reaches a happy medium between being nervous about the unknown and being willing to try new things. The illustrations are delightful all the way through.

This is a children's book yes, but they're fun to read before bed. It's light and cute so it's not something I need to really let sink in before going to bed.

Books about cats/kittens is even better! The illustrations were adorable. The side summery on the cover puts the overall message more in depth; which is to not let the fear of the unknown keep you from discovering new adventures!

I know when this book came out it was a big deal, but I don’t see why. It’s cute, yes, but not really special. Not something that speaks to me. It's about kittens being doomsayers about the coming snowfall (3 seasons away). And learning not to be scared of the unknown. I guess I was just expecting something WOW, and got something okay.
